Minnetonka High School is a high-performing, high school serving students in grades 9 through 12. Located in a suburban, one-high-school community, Minnetonka High School serves as the flagship of the Minnetonka School District, which has been recognized as a school district of excellence by the United States Department of Education.

Minnetonka High School operates a traditional six-period day, allowing its 2,800 students to maximize their learning and complete a full college-preparatory course load. The high school is equipped with state-of-the-art technology in the library media center, physics labs, technology education labs and architectural design classrooms. Voter approved referenda will provide $5 million annually for technology and classroom equipment to continue to integrate technology into all classrooms in the school district through the year 2017.
A rigorous academic program well prepares students for college or the world of work. Minnetonka High School is one of the few high schools in the west metro area offering a traditional High School Math sequence including: geometry, advanced algebra II (trigonometry), pre-calculus, calculus and statistics. Writing is emphasized across the curriculum in addition to an outstanding English curriculum.
Twenty-one Advanced Placement (AP) courses allow students to take and receive credit for college-level courses in calculus, macroeconomics, literature, composition, psychology, history, government, fine arts, statistics, chemistry, physics and biology. Accelerated or enriched courses are offered in English, math, science, social studies and world language. Students have the opportunity to take courses at local post-secondary institutions through the post-secondary enrollment options program. In addition to the AP program, Minnetonka High School offers the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, which provides an international standard of excellence and intellectual rigor for college-bound students world-wide. IB is a deep, thought-provoking course of study during the junior and senior year, and diploma graduates are among the top-tier college recruits in the world.
